Donna Wahl: Math Teacher (Middle School & High School) at Pflugerville ISD
Marco Gonzalez: Special Education (1st - 3rd Grade) at John Glenn Elementary
Our Purpose & Goal:
Our goal is to improve technology and technology integration at Midway Middle School. This wiki gives educators at our campus a collaborative community to share ideas and plan for the future together.
According to the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2010, all educators need to master the SBEC Technology Applications. Teachers need to have access to technology, professional development and time to implement. Furthermore, professional development opportunities must be provided and be available 24/7 to all educators through a variety of methods.
As educators, our goal is to empower and enable young citizens to live and interact in a continuously changing global marketplace. Successful implemenation of the Long-Range Plan should result in the following:
1. All learners engaging in a variety of media formats
2. All educators being prepared to use technlogy
3. Educational leaders providing stewardship for universal education
4. Infrastructure system supporting the educaitonal community
Are we succeeding? According to our Texas Campus STaR Chart Summary for the 2007-2008 school year, our rating in the area of "Teaching and Learning" is "Developing Tech". Our goal is to reach "Target Tech". Some specific domains where we need to improve are: Technology Applications TEKS Implementation, Students Mastery of Technology Applications, and Online Learning.
Proposed Question:
How do we, as a community of educators, work together to improve in these areas?
